This highly efficient way of replacing pipelines involves minimum disruption to the surroundings. Our methods are ideally suited to pipelines for drinking water, surface water, waste water and pressure drains as well as gas, process and other transfer pipelines. U-Liner® – our big sellerMaterial: PE HD U-Liner is an extremely convenient and efficient means of rehabilitating pipelines. Manufactured from high-density polyethylene (PE) under factory-controlled conditions, the U-liner pipe is produced with a circular cross-section. It then undergoes a special thermomechanical reshaping process where the pipe is finally giving its characteristic U-shaped cross-section, reducing the diameter of the pipe significantly. The reduced diameter of the pipe allows it to be installed in the host pipe, pulled into position using a winch. The original rounded shape is then restored using pressurised steam, connecting the U-Line pipe to the wall of the existing pipe and adapting it to the shape – what is known as a "tight fit". Following relining, services are restored using an advanced milling robot fitted with a camera, which in effect means no digging is required. When installing pressurised pipelines, such as water or gas, all the fittings on the U-Line pipe are welded. The financial benefits of the U-Liner are many: lower installation costs, a short installation time and most often pipe rehabilitation without digging. The method also offers a whole series of technical benefits which we would be happy to expand on. For larger dimensions we make use of three 'sock methods': Nordiwall, Tubetex and Nordipipe. These are installed in much the same way as a sock which is turned inside out and the shape is then adapted to the existing pipe using compressed air and steam. These methods are, however, not suitable for drinking water pipes and nor can they be welded in the same way as a PE pipe. We also rehabilitate wells and service pipes and carry out sliplining.
